Queenstown Marathon: aid stations and where to watch

The course runs from Millbrook to the Queenstown lakefront, with 11 aid stations. Here they are in order, from the organisers' own map.

Three start lines

  • Marathon: inside Millbrook Resort, on The Avenue.
  • Half marathon: Hunter Road.
  • 10K: Frankton Reserve, Beach Road, Frankton.

All three finish in central Queenstown.

The Lake Hayes trail

The organisers have rerouted the course around Lake Hayes before, to bypass a submerged 500 m section of the Lake Hayes Trail. In that update the start and finish stayed the same (Millbrook Resort to the Queenstown Recreation Ground). At about 11 km the course carried on along Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Road to the end, past the Lake Hayes Pavilion, then ran the eastern side of the Lake Hayes Trail.

The 2026 route on the official map is labelled "Contingency Course A". If you're running, check the course page in race week for the final route.
